Inspired by his daughter’s Lego and the soft, geometric shapes he’s returned to again and again, Chris began stacking 10cm cubes to form three friendly lights. The pipe is produced in hand-blown durable borosilicate glass with ultra-soft silicone covers (anti-static & UV treatment), the pipe comes in a giftable and protected package that includes an extra bowl. The modular design of the pipe allows the 5 components to be cleaned thoroughly and customized with the silicone parts and potential future parts. We also added a steel poker and integrated it into the design so it’s there when needed. Originally built in 1930, the church was converted into a 19,600-square foot (1,820 metre) flagship studio for Argodesign, a global product design office. Great companies entrust their product strategy and user experience design to argo.

The original church altar still serves as a focal point, but now functions as a stepped presentation platform with a custom, arched steel-framed window. "We thoughtfully designed the office to preserve the church's character and to give argodesign room to invent," said founding principal Michael Hsu. US studio Michael Hsu Office of Architecture has adapted a former church in Austin, Texas into an open office that maintains the original gabled form and materials. It is also a metaphor for small, controllable and safe movement - micro-mobility evolving step-by-step. Argo has pretty much doubled that time because of his “drive and love to go to work,” according to Schrader. He also was deployed for 105 building searches and used in more than 150 tracks, including one when he helped another agency locate a missing child, according to the proclamation. Argo was joined by his handler, CPD K9 Officer Branch Schrader, Police Chief Steve Norman, CPD officers and city officials on the steps of city hall to wish the 13 year-old German Shepard/Belgian Malinois mix well and thank him for his service.

Cat Person is a new DTC brand backed by Harry’s Labs who’s aim is to modernize the stagnant cat lifestyle category. To do so, they not only focused on creating the best food and lifestyle products but as a DTC brand they had the foresight to develop custom shipping boxes that celebrated the cat + person bond. Keeping in line with the brand the inspiration was from the elegant Steel Frame collection for Herman Miller designed by George Nelson with it’s “L” profile frame. To add functionality there are reconfigurable light boxes which attach to the frame creating areas for branding and artwork while keeping the environment open and inviting to visitors. Our goal was to elevate the Alta brand by creating a visual design language shared across their window automation product line.

Review: In ‘Unsung Hero,’ a family’s musical success story comes to life via the clan itself

When designing architectural components the aesthetics cannot be polarizing, they must be something that will compliment a multitude of interiors. At the same time, it's great to think of a design language that can be translated into complimentary products to be specified for projects. Many cats are...sprayers meaning they require high walled boxes without seams and liners that might leak. Many cats refuse to use an enclosed litter box because they can't sit without bumping their heads, or they don't allow light in, or they contain the smell inside too well. Most enclosed litter boxes are also too small inside and larger cats can't turn around upon entry, some entries are too high for older and younger cats, some entrances are too small for larger cats...and the list goes on. There aren’t any enclosed litter boxes available that can be proudly left out in a small space while also being inclusive to cats of all sizes, ages and behaviors.

This transformation also opens broad opportunities to engage the market in new and expansive ways. We help you respond to change and offer three distinct services to your company.

"The circular window was originally a stained glass window," the studio said. A large entry courtyard serves as an outdoor living room that connects to the main level and sits above a semi-underground lower level with training spaces, conference rooms and bike storage. "The structure is exposed, and the materials and framework perform while also operating as the finish," the studio said. "There are a range of collaborative and private spaces to accommodate different working styles and projects." I have authored several lifestyle books, including the critically acclaimed and commercially successful The Life Negroni, and I work as a content strategist and luxury brand consultant at Spinach. We added a video wall behind and above the desk for dynamic content to catch visitors eyes and it is flanked by 2 lit storage areas to showcase products. Developing a project for a global market involves many considerations, from our consumers and food service needs to production and filling. The “Zeppelin” lamp has a small footprint making it ideal for compact spaces while offering a warmth that spreads throughout the space. I was inspired by Achille Castiglioni and George Nelson’s lamps and applied some of those ideas into a modern zeppelin form. I hope it has a warmth and neutrality that’s a calming presence in any kind of room. We applied the design language we developed for the “Vie” decanters and shaker to create a cohesive family for gifting.

For our second collaboration with Gantri we took the design language of our “Balloon” lamp and applied it to a new silhouette. There are few designs as time tested as the NYC bin, from it’s production and durability to it’s serviceability and usability. My goal was to embrace the best qualities of the current bin and to evolve them to exceed today’s needs and to meet NYC’s future needs. For our third collaboration with Gantri we took the design language of our 2 previous lamps, Balloon and Zeppelin and applied it to a new and smaller silhouette. A simple to produce cladding was designed with a form that was clean and scientific while showcasing the product and offering areas for branding.

Our design-build service includes meeting with the owner and architect to determine the scope and complexity of work for the design and building process. From healthcare space to education facilities, our latest projects have turned heads and made waves across the Southeast. Working closely with our clients team, we developed a family of TV stands and accessories with a mid-century feel. The project was a huge success not only in media attention, but also in helping shape PepsiCo's new internal culture while staying relevant to our consumer. We showed how a small investment combined with strategic design could bring the brand more attention than advertising. I managed the Industrial Design component sketching and developing the primary and secondary packaging for the US launch and also bottle/tumblers with integrated straws for some of our South American markets.

Married with the functional aspects of the bin, the goal was to create aesthetics that were not polarizing but complimentary to sit alongside NYC’s architectural landmarks. A collection of serveware utilizing acacia and brass elements inspired by a circle. The Staze jar has a ribbed detail inspired by mushrooms gills that add grip and a premium feel while creating a continuous transition from the jar to the cap, so it does not get caught on anything when stored. The 45ml gel squeeze version is produced in an ocean bound plastic bottle and closure/clip to attach to a belt loop or bag. There are two styles available, one for liquid mist sanitizer and the other for squeezable gel sanitizer.

Your Guide to Norwegian Cruise Cancellation Policy: Explained

how to cancel norwegian cruise

I would love to be able to get this straightened out before Gloria takes this cruise which appears to have not been properly canceled and rebooked. If Gloria did receive this $588 refund, that means she’s received a partial refund for a cruise that she intends to board. A few days after canceling the cruise, Hampton received a partial refund from NCL. Gloria first presented Hampton with the idea of taking a Caribbean cruise with NCL early last year. It was a specific group sailing organized by a travel agent with whom Gloria was familiar.

How Do I Apply For Reimbursement If I Lose My Job?

Unfortunately, at the time of publication, most cruise lines’ more generous refund caveats surrounding cancellation due to COVID-19 have ended. Once your cruise is canceled, it’s time to read the fine print of your policy to decide how to file a claim and what you might be entitled to. If anything, these policies might help you cover the costs of any other related expenses of your cruise vacation, like canceled flights or hotel stays.

Could These Policies Still Change?

However, the terms and conditions of the cancellation policy vary depending on the specific circumstances and the time of cancellation. In general, if you cancel your Norwegian cruise within the specified timeframe, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund. It is important to carefully review the cancellation policy and understand any cancellation fees or penalties that may apply.

Cancellation fees for air, land and other add-on charges will apply even if the reservation is not canceled in full. Gateway changes for air and name changes for cruise, air, land and other add-ons are considered cancellations. Cancellations must be telephoned to our Reservations Department by your travel agent. Depending on when the cruise is canceled, cancellation charges will be assessed as stated on the Cancellation Fee Schedule. Keep in mind that refunds can take some time to process, especially during peak periods when cruise lines receive a high volume of cancellation requests.

If you are a member of a cruise line loyalty program, you may have a dedicated customer service number with theoretically less wait time. Passengers wanting a full monetary refund of 100 percent of all fares paid had to request this directly from Norwegian. Cruise Critic took a look at refund policies for Norwegian Cruise Line to break down everything cruisers need to know about their upcoming voyage.

Those who purchased flights through a travel agent or on their own should contact their travel agent or airline for more information. If you'd like a refund, Norwegian will allow you to cancel your sailing and request one, but just how close to the sailing date you're permitted to do so depends on when your voyage is scheduled to begin. Norwegian Cruise Line also offers the flexibility to modify your reservation, subject to availability and any applicable fees. Whether you need to change your travel dates, upgrade your stateroom, or make adjustments to your itinerary, Norwegian Cruise Line strives to accommodate your needs.

This type of travel insurance typically reimburses up to 75 percent of nonrefundable trip costs. The other nice thing is that you can book a CFAR policy within two to three weeks after making your first cruise deposit. It is always recommended for passengers to purchase travel insurance for all legs of their trip, including hotels and airfare in addition to merely the cruise itself. Those purchasing policies that include "cancel for any reason" coverage can file claims to recoup additional costs if the cruise line, airline or hotel is unable to refund the full amount of your booking. Coupons can be combined with future cruise credits and other discounts, but any promotions attached to the canceled booking will not be carried over to new reservations.

Step 1: Know the cancellation policy

The timeline differs on cancellations of cruises or cruise tours longer than 35 days. In addition to any cruise line penalties, an online agency could charge you an additional cancellation fee. For example, Cruises.com automatically charges $100 for any cancellation in addition to a nonrefundable $24.99 processing fee.

Step 4: Understand refund options

In addition to your cruise fare and taxes/fees, you might have spent other money on your trip. This can include things like pre-booked packages, such as drink packages, specialty restaurants, or wi-fi. In some cases, these items can add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. If you cancel anywhere close to the cruise date, then you should expect that you will receive a penalty for the cancelation.

Then I found out there were other free perks that we could have chosen instead. After Hampton agreed to take the cruise, Gloria’s travel agent, Kim, finalized the details for the ladies. She’s frustrated not only with her ex-friend but also with the travel agent who booked the cruise. She wants her refund and doesn’t care if it comes from Gloria, the cruise consultant, or Norwegian Cruise Line. Should you need to file a claim and you have purchased BookSafe, contact Aon for a claim form. Aon will advise of the documentation required along with your completed claim form.

As the name implies, with this sort of policy, you’re covered no matter why you decide to cancel. However, the trade-off is that it often covers only a certain percentage of your loss. If you’re wanting to cancel your trip, you might find that it’s not as simple as you hoped. These days many of us are used to being able to cancel an order online with the click of the button. First and foremost, yes, you are allowed to cancel a cruise that you’ve booked.

However, as the departure date approaches, the cancellation fees may increase. If you are uncertain about rebooking or utilizing future cruise credits, take your time to consider your options. Review your travel plans, evaluate your preferences, and assess any potential financial implications. You can also seek advice from a travel agent or consult with Norwegian Cruise Line’s customer service to gather more information. After initiating the cancellation process with Norwegian Cruise Line, it’s important to have a clear understanding of the refund options available to you.

Additionally, it is essential to consider the importance of travel insurance when booking a Norwegian Cruise Line trip. Travel insurance can provide peace of mind and financial protection in case unexpected events, such as illness or unforeseen circumstances, force you to cancel your cruise. It is recommended to carefully review the coverage offered by different insurance providers to ensure it aligns with your needs and provides adequate protection. While cancelling a Norwegian Cruise may be disappointing, it’s crucial to stay positive and look forward to your future travel adventures. Consider rebooking or utilizing future cruise credits to make the most out of the situation and turn it into an opportunity for exciting future plans. Understanding the refund options available to you is crucial, as it gives you the opportunity to make informed decisions about potential refunds, future cruise credits, or rebooking options.

Always discuss your intentions with your potential roomie before booking the cruise. The cruise that Hampton had been scheduled to take with Gloria was quickly approaching. Throughout December and January, Hampton continued to email and phone Kim and Gloria.

For more detailed information on Norwegian Cruise Line’s cancellation policy, you can refer to the official Norwegian Cruise Line website. Typically, Norwegian Cruise Line categorizes the cancellation policy into different time frames, depending on when the cancellation is made relative to the departure date. These time frames often include penalty-free periods, where you may be eligible for a full refund or future cruise credits, and later periods where cancellation fees may apply. Once we have received your deposit or full payment, the cruise rate is secure except in the event of substantial increases in operating costs, tariffs or taxes prior to the sailing date. If you select an Air/Sea package, additional governmental taxes and customs fees may apply.

Before we dive into the details, it’s important to note that every cruise line has its own cancellation policy. Norwegian Cruise Line, or NCL, has a well-defined cancellation policy that outlines the guidelines and procedures for canceling a reservation. Familiarizing yourself with this policy is the first step to canceling your Norwegian Cruise. Kim canceled the cruise for Hampton and informed her that Norwegian Cruise Line would process the refund back to her original form of payment. Hampton felt relieved; the $342 cancellation fee was a small price to pay to end this uncomfortable situation. To help advisors quickly and easily identify the cancellation policy for ocean-going cruise lines, Travel Market Report has rounded up each line’s standard policy.

When it comes to canceling a Norwegian Cruise, it is crucial to understand the company’s cancellation policy to avoid any unexpected financial losses. The amount you will lose depends on various factors, including the timing of your cancellation. If you cancel within 119 to 61 days before departure, you may incur a penalty of up to 25% of the total cruise fare. Cancelling between 60 and 30 days prior to departure may result in a penalty of up to 50%. Within 29 to 15 days, the penalty could increase up to 75%, and within 14 days or less, you might lose the entire fare.

The passenger who still wants to go would need to be rebooked at the current fares and pay the solo (or double occupancy rate). This would have ensured all the passengers would receive the appropriate refunds. This roundup does not include any special promotions that require either a non-refundable deposit or a non-refundable fare.

For cruises of six nights or more (excluding suites and Concierge staterooms), deposits are required from 119 to 56 days prior to your Disney cruise. After that, 50 percent of your cruise fare is due from 55 to 30 days prior to the sail date. You can still recoup 25 percent of your cruise fare from 29 to 15 days prior to sailing. But once you are 14 or less days from embarkation, you will not be issued a refund.

The BookSafe plan cost may be paid at any time from deposit up to and including final payment; however, trip cancellation coverage takes effect only upon payment of your Travel Protection cost. Payment of your cruise fare deposit without BookSafe Travel Protection will not activate your coverage. Except for nonrefundable deposits, nothing is charged if you cancel 90 days or more in advance of your five-night-or-longer cruise and 75 days or more from your four-night-or-less cruise. For short cruises, 50 percent of your cruise fare is charged between 74 to 61 days; and 75 percent is charged between 60 and 31 days prior to departure. No refund is offered with a cancellation made 30 days or less before embarkation. One noteworthy aspect of the Norwegian Cruise Line cancellation policy is the importance of travel insurance.

10 Fun San Francisco Bay Tours and Boat Cruises

bay area cruise

The next on my list of the 10 top San Francisco bay tours is our fun whale watching tours. They have larger boats in order to accommodate tables for their dinner dance cruises and they also have a higher price tag because so much more is included with this ticket. The Sunset Cruise is offered the rest of the year (roughly from mid-March through early November). They change the time this San Francisco boat cruise leaves in order to have you on the water during the sunset. First, this bay cruise is smaller and offers a more intimate experience. This one is better if you are looking for a more romantic evening on the water.

When you arrive, you will line up for the cruise and those in front will board first. I've been on the water with both companies several times and they both offer great service. We are bringing the historic Harbor Queen to Benicia for a limited run of sightseeing cruises May 18 and 19, to coincide with the Harold Bray Monument Dedication Weekend.

San Francisco Bridge to Bridge Cruise

Walk along the trails and bring a picnic to enjoy while you’re at the park, or stop inside the Boathouse for a coffee or a quick snack. Powell Street connects many of San Francisco’s districts, including Union Square and Fisherman’s Wharf. Hop on a cable car at the intersection of Powell Street and Market Street, where you can tackle those pesky hills the easy way while taking in views of the city’s historic buildings.

Muir Woods have been protected since 1908, when the area was declared a national monument. Rent a car for a quick 40 minute drive from the city, or you can take a shuttle bus to get there. The Dinner Dance Cruise is the first on my list from Hornblower. This company features San Francisco boat tours that I would consider are more for special occasions. This floating wine bar is a blast and allows you to sip on your local wine as you soak in the views from around the SF Bay.

The Best People Provide the Best Experience

Today, the district is one of San Francisco’s best known, its Victorian-style architecture a stark contrast with the foggy city’s looming skyline. They offer cruises usually on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the shows and some also offer cruises during the Blue Angels practice runs. This is the second sunset boat cruise on my list of the 10 best San Francisco Bay Tours. There usually aren't discounts for these San Francisco bay tours, but I do highly recommend booking your tickets early.

Top Things to Do in San Francisco

If you want a full write up of what to expect on this tour, you can also visit this page. In this case, I reviewed my time with the Red and White Fleet. You head west past several SF sights including Fort Mason, the Marina District and the Palace of Fine Arts. Not to mention the most famous bridge in the world, and an equally infamous island prison. If you’re a traveler from overseas, note that you’ll need to leave a tip (typically 15-20%) at restaurants and bars.

Specialty Cruises

You can also enjoy a drink or two on board (available for purchase at the bar). There is also a musician on board playing some light music in the background. The Twilight Cruise is offered during the winter months (roughly early November through mid-March). It's called a Twilight Cruise since the sun will already be down by the time the cruise is underway.

San Francisco's Top Tours

bay area cruise

In the summer, each company offers about a dozen boat cruises. These San Francisco boat cruises leave from Fisherman's Wharf several times a day. Crime podcast lovers and history buffs can’t miss a tour of Alcatraz, the infamous federal prison where high-profile criminals like Al Capone served their time. Originally, Alcatraz was the first lighthouse and fort built by the United States on the West Coast. Now, it’s a National Park where all can take in its history and rich views of the Bay Area from its lookout points. Patient bird-watchers will find colonies of gulls, egrets, and other species living on the island, too.

In the winter months, gray whales are migrating through this area and there is a special Gray Whale Sightseeing Cruise. It's the perfect pick for a romantic date night or upscale dinner. The wine is by the glass and is not included in the price of the cruise. You'll then head toward the Golden Gate Bridge, circle close to Alcatraz, enjoy the downtown San Francisco skyline, and then head back to where it all began.

They do offer a drink which is included in your ticket price. There are also fewer people on this boat, so you can get to know people a little better. In 2.5 hours, you will keep an eye out for whale activity and sightings.

If the timing of this cruise works for you, I would select this one over the standard 60-minute bay cruise as it gives you some great insight into Alcatraz. This one is very popular, but it only runs a couple of times a day. The Twilight or Sunset Cruise is offered by the Red and White Fleet. You will also cruise past Treasure Island and the Ferry Building. So, it offers a little more fun on the water for just a few more bucks per ticket. They are also usually flexible with timing too on which San Francisco boat tour you can board unless it's a really busy day.
